Wetland

Wetlands are good for biodiversity, as nitrogen traps, and as carbon sinks. We visit Henrik Nilsson
just east of Hammenhög to watch how he on the family's land in collaboration with
the municipality has created a large wetland. Water is pumped from a tributary to Tommarpsån into the wetland using solar power. When the water finally reaches the Baltic Sea, it is cleaner than it would have been without the wetland. In addition, Henrik gets to heat several buildings because he has covered three kilometers
geothermal hose under the newly constructed dam. In addition to Henrik's guidance, the municipality's
wetland coordinator Jonas Dahl to talk about the municipality's role in the restoration of wetlands here
on Österlen. Henrik invites us to coffee in his padella barn, so you don't need to bring coffee.
