A concert in two acts offering insight into the distinct lives and artistry of two artists. One grew up in the late 19th century by the sea in Bohuslän, the other in the mid-20th century in a Stockholm suburb. Throughout the concert, you may discover that they have more in common than you might think! We will hear many of their unforgettable songs, such as "Sol, vind och vatten," "Min älskling du är som en ros," "Inbjudan till Bohuslän," and "Himlen är oskyldigt blå," interspersed with stories and anecdotes from their lives.

Rita Saxmark is a trained opera singer from Bohuslän, now based in Stockholm. She has performed roles in Les Misérables, Phantom of The Opera, Sound of Music, West Side Story, Figaro's Wedding, Die Fledermaus, among others, on stages in Sweden and Europe. She has sung jazz with several big bands on the West Coast and works with various musicians such as guitarist Sabina Agnas, guitarist Staffan Sjögren, pianists Jan-Erik Sandvik, Carina E. Nilsson, and Stefan Ydefeldt, bassist Pål Jonsson, among others. Rita is a member of "Saxmark Soulmates" – The Swedish Austrian Unit and has also collaborated with Carl-Axel & Monica Dominique and Janne Schaffer. She has released a CD titled "Love & Life."

Staffan Sjögren, originally from Åkersberga, north of Stockholm, has worked cross-genre since graduating from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. He performs as an accompanist and soloist in chamber and orchestral contexts both in Sweden and abroad.
