Naturnatten på Stenshuvud

When darkness falls over the area on this early summer night, transitioning into National Day, we gather to explore which animals are out and moving. First, we’ll have a brief discussion about the animals we might see and hear. Then, divided into groups, we’ll listen for the clicking sounds of bats using ultrasound detectors, observe the moths attracted to the UV lights, and search for book beetles and other insects hunting for worms and snails with the help of headlamps and flashlights. Both children and adults can take the Naturfalken test.

This activity is a collaboration with Naturum Stenshuvud and the local branches of the Nature Conservation Association in Ystad, Tomelilla, and Färs (Sjöbo).

Meeting at Naturum at 21:30. No pre-registration is required – just show up. You can stay as long as you like, but we expect to pack up just before midnight.

Bring a flashlight or headlamp. We’ll provide coffee.
