Håkan Blomkvist - Retrospective

Abstract paintings in black and sepia ink where darkness takes over. An exhibition that includes painting, scenography and books.

Håkan Blomkvist was born in Stockholm in 1942. During the years 1963-68 he studied painting at the Royal Academy of Arts. His breakthrough took place at Galleri Blanche in 1981. At this time, Blomkvist mostly painted landscapes. But during a formative period when he spent the summers on Gotland, his painting fundamentally changed.

Håkan Blomkvist is represented at the following institutions, among others: Gothenburg Art Museum, Skövde Art Museum, Modern Museum and Ystad Art Museum.
